Quezon City names outstanding teachers in public elementary and high schools

THE Quezon City government under the administration of Mayor Herbert Bautista names 17 outstanding teachers from the public elementary and high schools of its 6th district as it celebrates the National Teachers Month.

The award, which is an acknowledgment of their superior performance, passion and dedication, was given by 6th district Councilor Marivic Co-Pilar during Monday’s flag-raising ceremony.

The elementary school awardees were Dr. Mercy Bacani Labordo of Pasong Tamo Elementary School, Efren Abrina Galera of Placido del Mundo Elementary School, Rolly Manuel, Jr. of Balumbato Elementary School, Marjun Porcadilla of L.B. Santos Elementary School, Rosalie Luarez of Culiat Elementary School, Maria Victoria Felicerta of Bonifacio Memorial Elementary School, Allan Michael Cruz of Sauyo Elementary School, Teresita Fernandez of Tandang Sora Elementary School, Elisea Tutaan of New Era Elementary School, Lea Hipe Mendez of Apolonio Samson Elementary School, Nancy Chua of GSIS Village Elementary School, and Ana Carmona of L.R. Pascual Elementary School.

On the other hand, the high school teachers awardees were Beverly Lolarga of Tandang Sora National High School, Aileen Abano of Ismael Mathay High School, Edgardo Cruz of New Era High School, Joanna Pabon of Sauyo High School, and Ana Marita Aler of Culiat High School.

National Teachers’ Month is celebrated from September 5 to October 5, 2018.

Meanwhile, the teachers said the initiative of the city government to annually recognize outstanding teachers has inspired them to do more.

Teacher Abano of the Ismael Mathay High School expressed her gratitude and thanked the city government for recognizing their efforts.

“Nagpapasalamat ako. Sana patuloy pa rin na kilalanin ang mga guro na talaga namang naglilingkod nang buong puso para sa kapakanan ng mga estudyante dito sa Lungsod Quezon,” she said.
