MORE than 90 percent of the 893 examinees who took the Special Philippine National Police Entrance and Promotional Examinations conducted by the National Police Commission more than two months ago, passed the test.

This was learned after NAPOLCOM Vice Chairman and Executive Officer Atty. Rogelio Casurao has expressed elation that the May 27 examinations, which were held at the PNP Training Service, the Camp Crame Elementary and High Schools, and Camp Aguinaldo High School, all in Quezon City; saw 824 examinees, representing a total of 92.27 percent, successfully passing the hurdle.

Casurao explained that the Special PNP Entrance Exam was intended for Police Officers I (PO1), whose appointments are temporary for lack of appropriate eligibility, while the PNP Promotional Exams were conducted exclusively for all PNP uniformed personnel (Police Officers, Senior Police Officers, Police Inspectors and Police Superintendents) who are college graduates and candidates for attrition by non-promotion due to lack of eligibility.

Vice-Chairman Casurao said all the 56 (100%) police examinees who took the PNP Entrance exam passed. On the other hand, only 527 (90.71%) of the 581 examinees who took the Police Officer exam passed, while 224 (93.72%) of the 239 examinees for the Senior Police Officer exam made it.

There is also a 100% passing rate in the Police Inspector and Police Superintendent exams. All the 13 examinees for the Police Inspector exam and all the four (4) examinees who took the Police Superintendent exam succeeded in the test.

“The 56 PO1 who successfully passed the PNP Entrance exam will be given permanent appointment while those who passed the different categories of the promotional exams will no longer be terminated from the service due to non-promotion,” Atty Casurao said.

The list of successful examinees is posted at the NAPOLCOM central office located at the DILG-NAPOLCOM Center, NAPOLCOM Bldg., Edsa Corner Quezon Avenue, West Triangle, Quezon City, and can be viewed at the NAPOLCOM website at www.napolcom.gov.ph.

Individual reports of rating will be mailed to all examinees. Verification of test results is ongoing at the NAPOLCOM central office and its regional offices nationwide.
