QUEZON City Mayor Herbert Bautista on Friday disclosed that Metro Manila mayors are set to meet next week to address the issue concerning the basis of class suspension declaration during rainy days.
“Sa Tuesday, may meeting kami para sa traffic na ‘yan, para alam ng mga mayors ‘yung mga decision points,” Bautista said during an interview with a radio station.
This developed following mounting public complaints about the consistent failure of local executives to suspend classes during times when Metro Manila suffers a heavy downpour.
“Paguusapan po namin,” Bautista said.
Meanwhile, Bautista proposed the opening of a “Flood-free lane,” an alternative route that would allow light vehicles to pass through with ease and avoid the heavy traffic that comes along with flooding.
