LOS ANGELES, CA – The Federation of Philippine American Chambers of Commerce will spearhead in October a trade and humanitarian mission in the Philippines.
In a press statement, the 22 year old FPACC said preparations are underway for its 2018 trade and humanitarian missions which will be led by its founding president and One World institute’s President Yolanda Ortega Stern.
This year’s mission theme is “Bridging the Global Economy for Change: The Future of Work” which complements the 44th Philippine Business Conference’s focus on “Infrastructure and Digital Economy: The Game Changers.”
The trade mission is scheduled on Oct. 16 and 17 at the Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon provinces otherwise known as the CALABARZON areas. This is to be followed by the Philippine Business Conference (PBC) in Manila on October 18-19 and a medical and humanitarian mission on Oct. 20 to 24 in Davao Occidental.
FPACC Vice President for Media and Public Relations Noel S.V. Omega said cleft & harelip repair, cataract surgery, Well Woman GYN exams, eye checks, dental services, diabetes screening, wellness checks, and relief distribution are among the planned activities during the humanitarian and medical mission.
He added that after a day of rest and recreation, the team will return to the US on October 26.
The FPACC is a coalition of well-established Filipino-American Chambers of Commerce in the United States.
The Federation is a strong advocate of business ownership among Filipino-Americans and provides a well-established network of trade and commerce resources for its member chapters in the United States. Among its most senior member chambers are the Filipino Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii (since 1956) and the San Francisco Filipino American Chamber of Commerce (founded in 1973).
FPACC’s counterpart in the Philippines, the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) and its Philippines-USA Economic & Business Council (PUBC), provide access and opportunities for the Philippine-based chamber chapters with U.S.-based businesses through a memorandum-of-agreement between these twin powerhouse organizations.
