A QUICK thinking building attendant at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport saved the life of a newly born whom she found wrapped in a black plastic bag and abandoned in a garbage bin.
Maricel Guliman was doing her chores in one of the restrooms of the NAIA Terminal 1 when she noticed a woman acting suspiciously. She said the woman, who appears to be pregnant, was going in and out of the cubicle with a bunch of tissue paper soaked in water.
Moments later, Guliman said, the woman hurriedly left as if nothing happened. She said she decided to look inside the cubicle used by the mysterious woman and to her surprise, she saw blood on the floor and the toilet bowl.
Guliman narrated to airport authorities that she also took a look at the nearby bloodied trash bin inside the cubicle and inspected the contents of a bloodied plastic bag. She added that she saw a baby, who seems to be dying, inside the bag prompting her to call the airport doctors who immediately came and successfully revived the infant.
Guliman described the woman to the authorities to be about 20 wearing a blue legging with white and blue shirt, and have a blue shoulder bag. The woman is now subject to a police manhunt.
Moreover, the authorities are also closely looking at the airport’s Closed Circuit TV footage to determine the identity of the seemingly heartless woman.
Meanwhile, airport authorities said the baby, who was rushed to a nearby hospital, is in stable condition.
