PH National Police Commission to celebrate 50th Founding Anniversary

THE National Police Commission is set to celebrate its 50th founding anniversary on Thursday at the Philippine International Convention Center.

Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary and NAPOLCOM Chair Ismael D. Sueno will be the guest of honor and speaker during the celebration which would be highlighted by the conferment of awards to community partners, test consultants, Philippine National Police gallantry awardees and PNP model families.

Sueno will be joined by NAPOLCOM Vice-Chair and Executive Officer Rogelio T. Casurao, Commissioners Felizardo M. Serapio Jr., Zenonida F. Brosas and Job M. Mangente in the presentation of plaques of recognition and commendation to the awardees.              

Vice-Chairman Casurao said among those who will recognized with a plaque of appreciation are Assistant Secretary Jose Wilfrido S. Oca, Presidential Management Staff (PMS); Executive Secretary Rodolfo D. Diamante, Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines-Episcopal Commission on Prison Pastoral Care and Philippine Action for Youth Offenders (CBCP-ECPPC/PAYO); and Administrator Manuel G. Co, Parole and Probation Administration.

They are being recognized for their untiring dedication and selfless contribution to the crime prevention policies and criminal justice programs of the government as members of the NAPOLCOM Technical Committee on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (TCCPCJ) in a span of more than two decades, Casurao said.

On the other hand, Casurao said Community Service Awards will be given to the Foundation for Crime Prevention (FCP), Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII) and FCP’s Ms. Carmencita M. Arce for their unwavering support to the organizing committee of the 22nd National Crime Prevention Week (NCPW) and generous contribution to the successful conduct of the NAPOLCOM programs, particularly the 2016 Search for Model PNP Families and the ‘Pito Tayo Laban sa Krimen.’

He also said a plaque of recognition will also be presented to Ms. Carol Pascual-Sanchez, Member of the European Union (EU) Technical Assistance Team under the EU-Philippines Justice Support Programme II (EPJUST II), for her generous investment of time and inspiration in guiding the NAPOLCOM in its journey through the Performance Governance System (PGS) Pathway, particularly in the development, implementation and monitoring of projects, such as the Community and Service-Oriented Policing System (CSOP) and the improvement of the administrative disciplinary procedures in NAPOLCOM.

Also to be awarded are retired Police Director Charles T. Calima, Jr. and Police Senior Supt Angeles B. Geñorga Jr. for sharing their expertise in the formulation of test items for the PNP Entrance and Promotional Examinations and the Police Executive Service Eligibility (PESE) Examination which immensely contributed in the professionalization and promotion of career development in the Philippine National Police, Casurao added.

The NAPOLCOM-wide Model Supervisor and Associate will also be given recognition for their hard work and unwavering commitment to the vision and mission of the Commission.

Meanwhile, the winners of the 2016 Search for PNP Model Families and the recipients of the PNP Gallantry Award shall be announced during the program.

On September 9, the second day of the anniversary celebration, the Commission will likewise give commendations to NAPOLCOM Service Best Performers for serving the Commission with the highest degree of professional rectitude.

Certificates and plaques of recognition will be given to 39 employees for having served the NAPOLCOM with utmost dedication and loyalty for the past 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40 years.    

Thirty nine (39) NAPOLCOM retirees will also be presented with plaques of appreciation in acknowledgement of their unselfish commitment and dedication while serving the Commission.

A cultural cheerdance contest to be participated in by select personnel from the central and regional offices will be held in the afternoon.

“As we celebrate our golden anniversary, we also take pride in giving awards and commendations to deserving PNP members and NAPOLCOM personnel in recognition of their commendable performance as public servants and for setting the standard bar high for their colleagues,” Casurao said.
