FINALLY the grieving family of an Overseas Filipino Worker who died in Israel got his remains after first receiving the wrong cadaver early this month.
The body of 58-year old Fernando Peralta was flown in at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport shortly after noon by Thai Airways flight TG620 after which it was brought straight to his hometown of Porac, Pampanga where his grieving family is waiting. This time a funeral homes staff confirmed it was Peralta’s body that was flown in from Tel Aviv.
According to the Department of Foreign Affairs, Peralta died last May 25 after suffering a heart failure.
In June 4, the DFA said, Peralta’s family received the wrong body after the Israeli funeral service company made a mistake in the casket processing. Instead of the casket containing Peralta’s body, what was sent was the one containing the remains of Shang Jun Yao of Shanghai, China.
Meanwhile, Yao’s remains was flown to Bangkok, Thailand by Thai Airways flight TG621 where it will be flown to Pudong, Shanghai.
