Former Philippine Pasay City Mayor Peewee Trinidad dies at 82.

FORMER Pasay City Mayor Wenceslao “Peewee” Trinidad died Friday, March 4. He was 82.

Pasay City Public Information Officer Liza Javier said the former mayor died shortly after 2 pm while undergoing treatment at the Asian Hospital in Alabang, Muntinlupa City. Trinidad was reportedly suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease when he died.

Trinidad served as Pasay City chief executive from 2000 to 2010. He also served as city vice mayor during the time of the late former mayor Pablo Cuneta.

Trinidad’s son, Jon Delfin, said his dad’s remains lie in state at 2458 Park Avenue in Pasay City.  A 7 pm mass will be held on Saturday and Sunday.

Trinidad’s friend and political ally, former vice mayor Greg Alcera said the former mayor’s death is a great loss for Pasay City.

“Condolences, para kay Mayor Peewee Trinidad. Just knew about it. Sad. Great loss for Pasay,” said Alcera, who was Trinidad’s vice mayor from  of the city during the term of Trinidad from 2000 to 2001.
